Betty Michener

Betty Kay Boyd Michener, age 78, passed away on Wed, Aug 25, 2010 at 8:50am in Metairie, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 yrs, Glenn K Michener, and son David S Michener. She is survived by her brother, Jack Quirey; and three children and their spouses: Shelly Schwindt, Dan & Kristi Michener; Thomas & Laurie Michener; and daughter-in-law Verlene Michener Reed. She also is survived by 11 grandchildren: Brian Michener , Steven Michener , Nicole Michener, Brent Michener, Katie Michener Talbot , Shaun Schwindt, Lauren Michener Price, Patrick Michener, Gregory Michener, Kinsey Michener, & Alyson Michener; and by 10 great grandchildren: Sarah, Caroline, Gabrielle, Shaun Philip Jr, Peter, & Paul Schwindt; Devin, Ivy, & Bryden Michener; and Caroline Talbot.

Betty was born in Loveland, Colo and was raised in North Platte, Nebr where she met and married the love of her life: Glenn Michener. She and Glenn lived in Denver before moving to Metairie in 1973. Betty and Glenn were devoted to their family, offering their home as a gathering place for many holidays and as the perfect viewing place for Saints and Broncos football games. Betty was also a master bridge player and devoted to the dogs who shared their lives with her. A special thanks to each of her Caregivers who provided her company and comfort through many long months. A memorial service is being planned for a future date.
