

Beulah Annie Garrett of Metairie, Louisiana, passed away on August 15, 2021, due to complications of COVID at the age of 87. She was born Beulah Annie Hammock on May 11, 1934, in Clayton County, Georgia, to the late William F. and Maude Hammock. After marrying Frank S. Slavich in the early 1950’s, she moved to New Orleans and had 3 sons, Frank, Danny, and Randy. Eventually, she moved to Metairie, where she resided at the time of her passing. Beulah, affectionally known as Bee, Mom, Baba, and Aunt Bee is survived by her husband Leonard Garrett (who passed August 16, 2021) and her sister Barbara Blankenship; her children, Randy L. Slavich (Susan) and Frank S. Slavich, Jr . (Mary Jane); her grandchildren, Randy L. Slavich Jr., Sabrina Slavich Trusty (Richard), Danielle Slavich Celino (Kerry), Frank Slavich III (Laura), Courtney Slavich Margo (Bobby), Collette Slavich Shamis (Anthony), Gianna Garrett; several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons Danny Slavich and Sean Garrett and her siblings Grace Adkins, William Hammock, Jr., Joseph Hammock, Harvey Hammock, and Lavada Saunders.
Beulah was an avid Saints and LSU fan. She enjoyed many kinds of sports especially playing cabbage ball at St. Roch Park and bowling at Paradise Bowling Lanes. She was a homemaker, owned Hideout Lounge, and owned Bee’s Amusements. She was a parishioner of Memorial Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She loved playing piano and spent many days volunteering her time playing for the residents of a local retirement facility. She also worked as a driver for Enterprise Car Rentals. She is well known for her love of dogs and cats. She could never leave a stray behind. She was a multifaceted strong, loving, kind, and caring woman with many talents, who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. We know you are in heaven playing the piano and singing with the angels. Rest in Peace!

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Memorial Baptist Church, 5701 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Metairie, Louisiana, on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 am followed by Services. Due to COVID, social distancing is encouraged, and mask are required. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Beulah Garrett may be made to your local SPCA or no-kill animal shelter.
