Bill (Grampy) Edwin Lowe passed peacefully on June 27, 2018 at the age of 77. He was preceded in death by his parents Captain Gentry S. Lowe and Bernadine Hartmann Lowe. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Sandra Livaudais Lowe, his four children Mike (Michelle) Lowe of Austin TX, Becky Latino finacé Timmy Doyle, Courtney E Lowe and Christopher E Lowe of Atlanta, GA, grandsons Justin and Evan of Austin, TX, Adam (Katy) of Oklahoma city, OK and Joshua Latino, brother of Gentry J Lowe(June) with nieces Debbie Mitchell, Wendy Siegel of Jefferson, Gentry, Ricky, and Quentin Lowe of Huntsville, AL, and Gabrielle Wortmann (TJ), Ellie, Jake, Claire of Virginia.
Bill graduated from John McDonogh Senior High School in 1958. He was an Air National Guard Veteran of the Berlin Crisis in 1961. He retired from IBM after 33 years as a Computer Field Engineer. He was a member of Bar-None, Pelican and Ozone Square Dancers Club.
Bill loved to spend time with his family on vacation, taking boating trips along the Tchefuncte River, playing fix it repair man on just about anything he could get his hands on, along with riding motorcycles. He traveled with his wife visiting international countries with friends. He was a master of repairs owning rental property in Metairie and New Orleans. William wasn’t afraid to get his hands dirty and enjoyed sub-contracting his home built 36 years ago.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial gathering at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Saturday, August 4 2018 beginning at 12:00 PM with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.
