Billie B. Walsh

Billie Walsh passed away peacefully on November 4, 2018 at the age of 94. Billie was born on April 28, 1924 in Alexandria, Louisiana. She was born to her parents Edna and Pete Brady, also preceding her in death is her sister, Madeline Gambordella, and brother, Quinnon Brady. She is survived by her son Cody, who is the only child of Billie and James “Red” Walsh, her sister, Jackie Gibson, brother Bruce Stevenson, and niece, Peaches Chatelain. . Billie will be missed by her loving son, Cody Walsh, who is the best son and a New Orleans established artist. Billie loved working at Cody Walsh’s gallery until November 2017, when she had fallen in her living room, breaking her back and wrist bones. Billie was told she could no longer drive, which she loved to do fast.

A Memorial Service will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana with Visitation on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm and again on Friday morning, November, 9, 2018 at 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. A Memorial Service will begin at 1:00 pm, with internment immediately following at Lake Lawn Park, 5454 Ponchatrain Blvd., New Orleans, Louisiana. Cody, I've been trying to get in touch. I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom. I know that you've been trying very hard to take good care of her over the last few Months. I knew her a long time before I knew you, because I always stopped by to admire your beautiful Artwork when she worked at your galleries. She was always kind to me and I miss her very much. I will come Thursday night.
