Blanca F. Colon

She graduated from Tulane University and worked throughout the city in the field as a histology technologist. She was an active parishioner of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Kenner for many years. She is preceded in death by husband, William Colon, son, Mario Sosa and seven siblings. She is survived by son, Neff Gomez, his wife Angela, and grandchildren, Kody, Nathan, Sierra and Isabella. She is also survived by sisters Paquita Hidalgo and Wilna Fernandez. She will be sadly missed by countless loving relatives and friends who will always remember her generous, loving spirit, often expressed through her amazing cooking. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral. A Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until Mass time. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
