

Bonnie Lynn Oeding DeLatte passed away peacefully at River Region Hospice House surrounded by loving family and entered into eternal life on Saturday, March 3, 2012 after a courageous battle with Inflammatory Breast Cancer. She was 61 years of age and a longtime resident of Kenner, LA. She was born on May 2, 1950 in Terre Haute, IN. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 38 years, David; parents: Richard and Betty Oeding; sisters: Janet, Phyllis (Dan), and Virginia (Tim); her two children: Brian(Ginger) and Laura (Alex); and most importantly her three beautiful loving grandchildren Taylor, Joshua and Lucas who were the lights of her eyes.
Bonnie graduated from Archbishop Chapelle High School, and the University of New Orleans with double majors in Spanish and Education. Bonnie was a Spanish teacher at Jesuit High School for the past 20 years, and head of the Modern Foreign Languages Department. She loved her students as her own. She previously taught at Archbishop Blenk High School for 13 years. She was a longtime parishioner of Divine Mercy Catholic Church (formerly St. Elizabeth Ann Seton) in Kenner, LA.
Bonnie always wore a beautiful smile on her face, and had a positive uplifting outlook on life. Bonnie was a gift of amazing strength and courage, and an inspiration to all who knew her. Her love for her grandchildren was the motivation and drive for her courageous battle. Bonnie will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends.
Family, friends, faculty, students, and staff of Jesuit High School are invited to attend the visitation and Funeral Mass. The visitation will be at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA on Friday, March, 9, 2012 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm and on Saturday morning, March 10, 2012 from 8:30 – 10:30 am. The Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
