Carl Edwin Bucholdt

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Bucholdt and Carnotte Taylor Bucholdt of Gordon, Wisconsin, his beloved grandmother, Emily “Nin” Taylor, and his brother, Peter Bucholdt of Maine.

Carl is survived by his sister-in-law, Nancy Bucholdt of Maine, nephew, Grant Bucholdt, niece, Melissa Martin, great-nephew, Stevie Martin, and great-niece, Taylor Martin. He is also survived by numerus cousins, especially Kari Boucholdt Knauss.

Carl graduated from Layton School of Art in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He worked at the Milwaukee Journal newspaper and worked for T. R. W. in California as a technical illustrator for 20 years.

After moving to New Orleans, Carl and Larry opened The Floral Affair in Metairie, which they ran for 29 years before retiring in 2016. Carl loved adventures, travel, and art. He and Larry operated the “Lavita Loco” cruise group for 22 seasons, which brought much for fun to our family in friends.

The family would like to give a special thanks to East Jefferson General Hospital and Anvoi Hospice, especially Patricia Magnor R.N., who is a dear friend and consummate professional.

A celebration of Carl’s life will be held at GrandPre’s at a later date.
