Carmen Angelica Schielder, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 25, 2015. Wife of the late Joseph Edward Schielder. Mother of Silvia C. Alvarez (husband, José) and Mark Schielder (wife, Tiffany). Grandmother of Sophia, Christopher, Sr. (wife, Lorena), Brian (wife, Amanda), Julio and Carmen. Great grandmother of Kristen, Christani, Christopher, Jr., and Nathaniel. Daughter of the late José Benvenuto Garcia and Carmen Pascual Garcia. Mrs. Schielder was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Schielder was a very hardworking, strong, independent and generous person. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial gathering at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie on Saturday afternoon, October 3, 2015 beginning at 2:00 PM with a Memorial Mass to follow at 4:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.
