

Carol Steiner Rubenstein died at her home on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at 12:15 p.m. Mrs. Rubenstein was a native of New Orleans and a graduate of Isidore Newman School, Newcomb College, and the Graduate School of Tulane University, where she received her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology. She lived in Shreveport for more than twenty-five years, before returning to New Orleans, the city she always loved. While in Shreveport she served as the President of B’nai Zion Congregation and Southfield School. She is survived by her children, Jane A. Rubenstein, of Chicago, and Michael D. Rubenstein, of Houston, and her brothers Sidney and Jerome Steiner, both of New Orleans.
A memorial service will be held in the Feibelman Chapel of Temple Sinai, 6227 St. Charles Avenue, on Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at 12:00 noon with Rabbi Edward Paul Cohn and Cantor Joel Colman officiating. Friends may visit the family from 11 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be sent to either Congregation Temple Sinai or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
