Carroll Fry Corder of Metairie, LA passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at the age of 80. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Archie Corder; two sons and their wives, Jimmy Corder (Tricia) of Eden Prairie, MN and Cliff Corder (Stacy) of Baton Rouge, LA along with seven grandchildren: Mason (Claire), Hayden (Sydney), Miles (Alaya), Sarah, Julia, Emerson, and Peter and a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert Dewitt and Thelma Flippo Fry; her brother, Joseph William Fry and her daughter, Carroll Renee Corder.
Carroll was born in Paducah, KY and grew up in Union City, TN. She was a resident of Metairie, LA for 47 years. She was an avid fan of The University of Tennessee and a longtime member of St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church where she served on several mission groups with LA Volunteers in Mission. She was also active in Church Without Walls homeless ministry in New Orleans and volunteered with Kairos Angola Prison Ministry. She has been a faithful follower of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ since her early years.
The family wishes to thank Vital Caring Hospice for the excellent care they bestowed on Carroll.
A Celebration of Carroll's life will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie, LA. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am.
