Christopher "Chris" Brown, age 67, passed away on July 26, 2026, in Metairie, Louisiana. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on February 27, 1959.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosalind Sternberg; his grandparents, Ildefonso "ID" and Katherine Juan; and his partner, Pauline "ChiChi" Delafont.
He is survived by his brother, Keith Brown.
Chris grew up in Metairie and spent his life around cars, building a long career in the automotive industry working in both parts and mechanics. Whether he was behind the counter or under the hood, he was always near the work he loved, staying in it until his health no longer allowed him to continue. Along the way, he lived for a time in Florida and later spent several years in Oregon, a place he came to love, before returning home to Louisiana for good.
Chris had simple tastes and strong opinions about them. A good burger or good Mexican food didn't need to be fancy — it just needed to be good, and he knew where to find it. He was an avid movie lover and took pride in his DVD collection, always ready to talk about a film he'd watched or one you needed to see. He also enjoyed tinkering with remote control boats and cars, starting with fuel-powered models before moving on to battery-run ones, and loved nothing more than taking them out to see how fast he could push them.
More than anything, Chris was known for his smile and his sense of humor — quick to laugh and quicker to make everyone around him laugh too. He was a beloved uncle to his nephew, Tristan, who cherished his stories and his company, and a constant presence in the life of his brother Keith and sister-in-law April, who made sure he always had a place at the table.
Chris will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His family finds comfort in knowing he is finally at peace.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial gathering at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA on Monday morning, August 3, 2026 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
