Christine Van Vrancken Munster at the age of 97, entered into the hands of our Lord on Monday, February 18, 2013 peacefully at home with her family. She was born on April 21, 1915 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Miss Tenie as she was affectionately known by all was the most patient, loving woman. She was the original owner of Munster's Restaurant and Bar along with her husband the late Ernest P. Munster, Jr. (Junior) Her passion for family, friends, cooking and her pets showed throughout her life. The times she spent at her Three Sons and a Daughter Camp in Little Woods was her sanctuary. A hard-working, strong-willed woman who gave effortlessly to everyone who needed a hand. Her love for the many children from Uptown New Orleans was evident in her tireless energy supporting the many teams that walked on the field at Wisner Playground.
She is survived by her four loving children, Ernest John Munster, (Barbara), John Elvin Munster, Sr., Emily Munster Guercio and Malcom Peter Munster, Sr. (Vickie). Her 11 grandchildren; Cherie Munster, John E. Munster, Jr, Ernest J. Munster II, Donna M. Munster, Lisa Guercio Arcemont (Jeff), Bobby Guercio, Jr., Brooke M. Munster, Joey A. Guercio, Jason P. Guercio, Malcom P. Munster, Jr. and Branden M. Munster. Also her 7 great grandchildren; Dianthè Lyn Rose, Alexis J. Arcemont, Analiese C. Arcemont, Ava V. Arcemont, Georgia Guercio, Abigail Rose Harrison and Avery A. Guercio. Also survived by many nieces, nehews, family and friends.
Preceded in death by her mother, Emily Thomas Van Vrancken, father, John William Van Vrancken, raised by her step-mother Jeanne Mailhes Van Vrancken, sister Catherine V. Lagarde, brother John Van Vrancken and daughter in law, Ruth Brignac Munster.
A resident of New Orleans until Hurricane Katrina brought her to Metairie, Louisiana. She was a devoted catholic and parishioner of St. Matthias Catholic Church, New Orleans, La.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Boulevard, Metairie, La. Monday morning, February 25, 2013 from 9 am- 12 noon. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Philip Neri Church, 6500 Kawanee Ave., Metairie, La at 12:30. Internment at Greenwood Cemetery.
