Christopher James Doody died on Sunday, May 24, 2026, after a brief but painful illness at the age of 48. He was born on August 1, 1977, in Metairie, LA, and was the only child of Kenneth J. Doody and Elvira Rodriguez Doody.
He attended Crescent City Baptist School and Grace King High School. He obtained the rank of Eagle Scout as a member of Boy Scout Troop 228 after much hard work and a little gentle persuasion. Christopher tried his hand at many different trades, searching for the one that he enjoyed most, and that was cooking. He worked at many different restaurants; his favorites included SaI and Sam’s, and Commander’s Palace. When asked to cook a dish and was offered a recipe, he would say, "That’s simple, I don’t need a recipe”, and the dish would be delicious.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Donovan Doody of Columbia, S.C., his parents Kenneth J. and Elvira R. Doody of Metairie, many aunts and uncles, including Charlotte Doody Walker and Wayne Walker Sr. of River Ridge, Matthew Spence of Metairie, Mario and Debra Mehl Rodriguez of Bland, MO., and Guadalupe M. Rodriguez of Norcross, GA, as well as many cousins and friends.

Doody, and Ruben Garibay, as well as his aunts, Cynthia Doody Spence, Carolyn M. Doody, and Margarita Villarreal Rodriguez.
