

Clyde Purvis Milam born on March 22, 1925 died on October 30, 2014 after a brief illness. Mr. Milam was preceded in death by his wife, Lorane M. Milam, his parents, Graham P. and Ethyl D. Milam of Panola County, Mississippi, his brother, Richard L. Milam, and his sisters Ruby M. Newton, and Inez M. Lakey and his oldest granddaughter.
Mr. Milam served in the US Navy during WWII and has a long career in the insurance industry in Louisiana, being names an Honorary State Insurance Commissioner shortly after his retirement in 2012.
He spent many years in the Lakeside Lions Club serving its many charitable endeavors.
He was a founding member of the Sherwood Baptist Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas as well as a founding member of the University Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas after relocation there. At the time of his death, he was actively serving as Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee of Memorial Baptist Church of Metairie, Louisiana.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda M. Rhoades, of Temple, Texas, his sons W. Richard Milam of Huntersville, NC and Timothy C. Milam Of Metairie, La in addition to three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and one great grandson.
