Colleen Marie Sanchez Remont entered eternal rest on February 10, 2026, after a courageous and grace-filled 16-year battle with cancer. She fought quietly and faithfully, with strength that inspired all who knew her.
Born on August 6,1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Colleen was the beloved daughter of the late Liles and Colleen Sanchez. She shared 54 devoted and joyful years of marriage with her husband, Rudy Remont — a love story that was the foundation of her life.
A proud graduate of Archbishop Chapelle High School, she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of New Orleans. Colleen dedicated her professional life to Catholic education through the Archdiocese of New Orleans, serving as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal at various schools. Her vocation in education was not just a career, but a calling rooted deeply in her faith. She believed wholeheartedly that shaping young minds was a way to serve God, and she led with compassion, integrity, and Christ-centered guidance. Throughout her career, she received numerous honors recognizing her leadership, dedication, and deep commitment to nurturing young minds and hearts.
Above all, Colleen’s greatest joy was her family. She poured her heart into creating special memories, traditions, and a home filled with love and faith. She is survived by her loving husband, Rudy; her son, Kyle Remont (Joy); her daughter, Amanda Fruge (Toby); and her cherished grandchildren, Madelyn and Lane. She is also survived by her sister, Lori Juneau (the late Keith Juneau), and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Lotspeich (Steve), and her brother, Michael Sanchez (Tori).
