Corinne Marie Doll

Corinne Marie Dearie Doll, age 77, of New Orleans, passed away Monday, August 29, 2011 at Ochsner Medical Center. Beloved by her family, Mrs. Doll was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Corrine is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Chester "Chet" Doll, their three adult children, Keith Doll and his wife Sara, Gwen Doll Urrea and her husband Hugo, and Barbara Doll Ross and her husband, Mike, and her grandchildren; Faith Doll Thomas, Ellen Fitch, Hugo Urrea Jr, Douglas Urrea, Jonathan Ross, Amanda Ross and Michael Ross, Jr. , and her three great-grandchildren.Corinne was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Geraldine Dearie of New Orleans.Corinne was a graduate of St. Stephen's High School for Girls and attended Memphis State University.Corinne and Chet and their children spent many years in Memphis, TN during Chet's years as a college basketball coach.Corinne Doll, known by her grandchildren as "Mimi", will be always be remembered for her love for music, as a piano instructor and church choir member, and for her gentle touch, kind heart and generous spirit. Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen's Church at 1025 Napoleon Ave, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
