Dale Anthony Borne age 83 of Kenner, LA, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. Dale was born on July 20, 1943 in New Orleans, LA to Harold J. Borne and Julia Hingle Borne. He graduated from Francis T. Nicholls High School in New Orleans and attended Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA. Dale proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and after his honorable service, he proudly worked as a Salesman in the Food Service Industry. Dale was a parishioner and usher at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church where he also was a member of the Men's Club and active with the church's mission to feed the homeless. He was also a proud and active member of the American Legion Post 377, Kenner, LA and the Forty & Eight Voiture 1522.
He had a heart for helping others, a deep love for people, and a joke always ready to bring a smile. His Catholic faith was a guiding light in his life, and he cherished his family, music, and the joy of a good game. He will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, and the genuine love he showed to everyone he met.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Julia Borne; and his brother, Wayne Borne.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Sheila Falgout Borne; his children, Kyle Borne and Keeley Borne Frederick (Brian); his sister, Marlene Borne; his grandchildren, Gabriel Frederick and Isabella Frederick (Cody Holliday, fiancé ); his sister-in-law, Gail Borne; and his nieces, Rebecca Herbert, Karen Powell, and Jennifer Babineaux.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 6500 Kawanee Ave., Metairie, LA, on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Inurnment with US Navy Military Honors will be held in Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi, MS, on Monday, November 2, 2026 at 12:30 PM.
