

Darold L. Poulin, a marine architect and sole owner of the firm “Ship and Marine Design, LLC”, a native of the state of Maine and long-time resident of the state of Louisiana, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013 at the age of 72. He cherished the marine environment and was focused on contributing to the advancement of new technology for the industry’s development and future innovations. He was a long-time member of the American Bureau of Shipping Technical Committee for the development of ship design rules and a member of the U.S. Naval League Society. He was the beloved husband of Brenda (Ledet) Poulin ; father of Debbie Greengard, James Poulin and the late Kathy LeBlanc; step-father of Erika, Heidi and Trey Kraemer. He is also survived by a loving twin sister, Donna L. Glover and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Celebration of his Life on Saturday, January 11, 2014 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Smilie’s Restaurant, 5725 Jefferson Hwy. in Harahan, LA; 504-733-3000.
