David Burns Jr.

David Earl Burns Jr. went to be an Angel in Heaven on Wednesday, September 3, 2014. He was 79 years old. Loving son of the late David E. Burns Sr. and Esther Fauries Burns. Brother of Laurence J. Burns (Cathy Liles). Nephew of Ada Tucker Fauries. Cousin of Adalynn Fauries Nugent (Gerard) and Laurence G. Fauries (Anita Cavalier). Uncle of Mack, Lisa, Lauren, Lynn, and Tammy. Also survived by 8 great-nieces and nephews and 6 great-great nieces and nephews. He was born in New Orleans and resided at the Hammond Strawberry Fields for the past 40 years. David was a joy to all who loved and knew him. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to his loving caretakers Helen, Ellana, Joyce, Dani, and the entire staff of the Hammond Strawberry Fields. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Richard Murphy Hospice Foundation and/or the Hammond Strawberry Fields are preferred. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from LEITZ-EAGAN Metairie, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, on Monday morning, September 8, 2014 at 11:00.
