David graduated from Archbishop Rummel High School, earned his Bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Louisiana University and continued his education earning a degree as a board certified Respiratory Therapist, a career he loved.
As a self-taught and accomplished woodworking artist with a fine eye for detail, he produced exquisite jewelry boxes, tea boxes and other items beautifully crafted with inlaid wood features and was also proud of his more simply created “Roux Spoons”. David is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Megan Levens Dupuy and his two sons, whom he adored, Jonathan David Dupuy and Luke Paul Dupuy. He is also survived by his parents, his beloved sister Tracy Elizabeth D. Ready, her husband, Aaron Ready and his nephew and godchild Harrison W. Ready. Additionally, he also leaves behind his grandfather Lennis Dupuy Sr., his mother-in-law Kathleen Bourgeois Levens, brothers-in-law Michael Levens and Ryan Levens (spouse, Shelly), and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. David is preceded in death by his grandparents Paul J. Fourchy, Jr., Ethel Gresse Fourchy, and Doris Giroir Dupuy and by his father-in-law John Levens. He will be deeply missed.
