Hi Dad. It’s been seven months now and it feels like forever. I really miss you! It feels like everything in my life has changed. It seems that the world was such a better place with you in it. I think about Larry a lot too.  I always knew that I was protected when y’all were here. I feel scared sometimes. Larry and Dev are so far away. I know they would do anything for me. They are the best. I haven’t seen the girls in a long time but everyone is well. I have lots of memories about “the old days “ now. I wish we could go back to when we first moved to Folsom. We had a lot of family time there. It was good. It will be good again someday. I love you Dad, 4-ever and always, Denise 

Dad, 

Today is four months since you’ve been gone. I miss you  more and more each day. I put your picture by my bed and I’m not sure that I’ll leave it there. I feel mostly sad when I look at it but sometimes happy.  I miss you greeting me every day with that silly smile and you saying “What did you bring me?” It was getting hard to think of new and different things to bring you but I promise I enjoyed it and wish I were still looking for new things just to see your smile. I loved it when you didn’t like it and would tell me it was yucky. I’m so sad that you’re gone. Sometimes I go in the backyard and see MawMaw’s roses and ask her to watch out for you. I’m sure that she does. I love you Dad and I still tell you that all of the time. You know I never liked things to change much. This change is almost too much to handle.

As a young adult, Dave gave me lessons in life, the trades, human nature and family. He shared wonderful life stories. I hold my time with him close to my heart. The last lesson he gave, was through his actions. That is, pass them on to those who need them.

Happy Father’s Day Dad. I miss you so much. My life has changed a lot since you’re gone.  I feel a little lost and alone sometimes. Our family hasn’t been able to be together much. We are going to have your funeral Friday. I’m sorry it took so long. I just really wish you were here with me.  You are the best dad in the world.  I love you 4-ever & always.

Hi Dad. Today is Easter and my every thought is of you. What great memories I have of our Easters together. Everyone dressed in yellow because you said that was the color of Easter. Hiding eggs (widdle Warry’s wooking out the window) and mostly the game you loved best. We would pick our egg, of course you picked first, then tap them together to see who’s egg cracked first. I’m still not sure how you always had the best egg! We would all spend the day together and you ate plenty of candy. Wow, you loved candy! Today won’t be like that. Things have changed for everyone. I’m so sad. I miss you so much and I love you 4-ever!

Oh, my Da.. 

I miss you more than you’ll ever know! 

I miss our trips to get donuts at the crack of dawn followed by chasing geese at the park. You always told us we’d get $10 if we caught one, yet somehow those mean, honking geese always ended up chasing us away! 

I’m also pretty sure you’re the reason I hate bananas to this day (he shoved an entire banana in my mouth when I was like 4). He always made fun of me and my “clean rice” but he was the best! He always called me his “big little girl” and sang me songs anytime I asked.

I remember the fun we had on the water. I think those were some of my favorites. Fishing, skiing, boat rides and hanging out with everyone. Almost drowning but you saved me. I remember bobby-pins, rubber bands, and being snapped with dish towels. So many memories flood my mind. So many that I can’t begin to explain. One thing for sure is we were brought up with love and kindness. I miss you Dad. My days have been long and full of memories of you. My nights have been short full of nightmares too. The thought of not seeing you hurts so bad but the memories we have had are 4-ever and for that I am glad. I love you ❤️ 

 Rest In Peace Uncle Dave, knowing you were truly loved in life. You will be missed by not only your family but by many.  May they have a sense of ease knowing that you’re in a loving place.

Helping us build our houses, but having to remember that we’re “not building a piano “.

All your great stories Dad. 
Long coat, moustache and cigar. 
All the fun your grandchildren had with you? 
So many memories.
