Deborah Ann Blue, born January 4, 1950, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the age of 75. She was a devoted mother to John Davies Jr. and Jenna Laitinen, and a beloved grandmother to Michaela Laitinen, Ethan Richards, Raquel Lambert, and Carsen Burnthorn. She is also survived by her brother, Marion “Buster” Blue. She will also be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Blue Sr. and Ovelia Gay Petrie. Deborah dedicated 50 years of her life as an administrator in the Jefferson Parish School System where she touched countless lives with her kindness and guidance. She will be remembered not only for her decades of service in education, but also for the love she gave so freely to all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by a service at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Deborah’s life was one of quiet strength and enduring love. She will remain in our hearts forever.
