Deven R. Morel

Deven Ronald Morel, 37, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023, following a short illness that led to a seizure. Deven was surrounded by family at the time of his passing. He was born on September 30, 1985, in Metairie, Louisiana. He is survived by three sons, Kylan, Bri’lan, and Deven Morel Jr. and a stepson, Jacob Barbin. He is also survived by his parents, Tommy and Sandy Morel, partner Elizabeth Barbin, and siblings, Leslie, Tommy (Kelley), Gavin (Brecken), Derek (Lauren), Connor (En’Joli), Brandon (Lauren), Ali (Joel), and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Delton R. Charles and Anna and Harry Morel, Sr.

Deven served in the Army and was deployed to Afghanistan for a year, where he received awards for his service. He also worked as a DJ and radio personality for New Orleans radio station 102.3 where he worked to promote local and national music artists.

A private ceremony will be held for Deven's family on Monday, July 10, 2023.
