Diana Bishop Smith

Diana Bishop Smith, age 79 of Harahan, Louisiana, passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Diana was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 17, 1946, to Nolan Eugene Bishop, Sr. and Gladys Theresa Schellang Bishop.

Diana was the beloved wife of Arlen Smith; loving mother of Wayne Smith (Debbie), Jason Smith (Kathy), and Randy Smith (Danielle); daughter of the late Nolan, Sr. and Gladys Schellang Bishop; step-daughter of the late Gladys Magsino; sister of Susie Johnston (Christopher), and the late Kathy Smith, Imogene Whittington, and Nolan Smith, Jr. (Corky); and step-sister of the late Jane Magsino and Joan Magsino. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Those who knew Diana will remember a woman whose devotion was steady and sure, whose loyalty to the people she loved never wavered, and whose compassion was offered with quiet sincerity. Her faith and her family meant everything to her, and she carried that faithfulness into the way she lived and cared for others. Diana cherished her beloved cat, Cuddles, and enjoyed spending time with her friend Emily Vicknair.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial mass at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Metairie, LA on Friday, August 14, 2026 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM.
