Dolores Marie Netzhammer Snider

Dolores Netzhammer Snider passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at the age of 81. She is survived by her son, Charles Gary Snider (Suzanne); her daughters, Sandra S. Myer and Judy S. Jackson (Daly); her grandchildren: Christie Peri (Stephen), Kellie Jackson, Dustin Snider (Trish) and Bonnie Snider; her great grandchildren: Carlie Schaub, Gabrielle Peri, Jackson Peri, Lauren Snider and Tyler Snider. She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles F. and Maria Boucvalt Netzhammer; her husband, Harold G. Snider and her grandson, Scott Snider.

Mrs. Snider was a parishioner of St. Rita Church in Harahan where she was a member of the Altar Society, the Parish Welcoming Committee, Meals on Wheels, the Silver Trotters and the Perpetual Adoration Chapel. She was a recipient of the Catholic Charities Senior Citizens Award presented by the Archbishop at St. Louis Cathedral. She was a member of the Rose Petals of St. Theresa and an alumnus of St. Mary Dominican. She was a member of the Kenner American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 377 and a member of the 8 and 40 Voiture Locale 535. She was a volunteer for the Special Olympics and was active in the Senior Citizens’ Olympics, winning several gold and silver medals in tennis doubles, basketball, golf and billiards. Her family was also a charter member of the Deutsches Haus.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM.
