Don you were one of a kind .. I'm so glad I got to know you & call you my friend .. Hard to believe we've been hunting together for 31 years & even harder to believe you are gone .... We were only getting to know Don in Columbus, but in that short time, he certainlly made an impression. You could tell he was a "people" person. Dear Don, I can not believe you are gone. Probably up there cracking up God with one of your stories that always made me laugh. Was talking to EE the other night about some of your classic lines and we were laughing. The world was certainly a better place with you in it and you left it brighter in many ways. You were one of the first people I met in the morgue at JP and you said - I have never seen anybody come through that door with a smile on their face. That was a great compliment to me b/c as you learned quickly I love my job and want to do the best on every case and I learned the same about you. We both moved on, but I will never forget those days and the cases we worked together. My prayers are sent up for all your family and many friends. I know this must be truly breaking your mother's heart - y'all were so funny together and I know she holds those memories close as do all who interacted with you. God bless and keep you. Though Don had only been in Columbus a short time, he had already proven himself to be a great officer of the law and a good friend. I'm a better person for having known him and Columbus was a much better place to live with him as the Commander of Investigations for the Columbus Police Department.
