Donny, a cherished husband, father, uncle, brother, friend and neighbor, passed away on Wednesday February 11th at the age of 66 in Metairie Louisiana due to heart complications. Born on November 23, 1959 in New Orleans. Donny was the beloved son of the late Joe and Nell Nettles, Grandson of the late Hoyt and Helen Nettles. Son-in-Law of the late Melvin and Nedra Cain.
Donny is survived by his wife of 41 years Karen Cain Nettles; his daughter, Samantha Nettles Chatelain (Dru); his grandchildren, Adalynn and Ayden. He is also survived by his nephews who were more like his sons, Chad Nettles (Susan) and Brad Nettles (Shannon). Also survived by great nieces and nephew. He will be greatly missed by his brother Gerald Nettles (Paulette) and a host of neighbors and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life gathering at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA on Monday morning, March 9, 2026 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 noon.
