Donna was born on August 5, 1957, in Columbia, Mississippi. She grew up in Dallas, Texas, and then in Kenner & Metairie, Louisiana. She attended St. Lawrence the Martyr, Chapelle High School, and graduated from Grace King High School. She excelled in her academics, earning straight As.
Donna knew Jesus. Her faith carried her through a life that was not always easy, but she was a fighter- strong, determined, & resilient! She endured many struggles with courage & perseverance. Even in her hardest seasons, she kept going.
She had a compassionate heart, always advocating for & helping those in need. Whether comforting those who were sick or less fortunate, or lending a helping hand to anyone facing struggles, Donna gave freely of her time, energy, & love.
She loved her children & granddaughters deeply. Her love was shaped by her own life experiences, but it was real & sincere. She also loved her parents & her sisters dearly. Those family bonds meant so much to her.
Donna was a truly artistic soul. Her creativity shone through her drawings & artistic endeavors. She was also an avid gardener & loved watching her plants grow. It brought her immense joy & pride.
In her final months, Donna shared her days with her dear roommate, Mrs. JoAnn, who became a cherished friend. She was blessed with wonderful friends on the NICA Bridge who encouraged her through many struggles. She received loving care from Hearts of Hospice, especially Hannah, who was faithfully by her side as she passed, treating her with love, compassion, & dignity. That meant so much to her & her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Winfred Scott Langston & Mary Louise Kirby. She is survived by her children, Neil Langston & Natalie Oldham Breaux (Danny); her beloved grandchildren, Mia Paige & Zoe Faith Breaux; step-grandchild, Peyton, her sisters, Janie (the late Roger) Lee, Deborah (Harry) Bullock, Dianna (Peter) George, & Dana (Wally) Cox; along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.
Though we will miss her deeply, we trust she is now at peace—free from pain, free from struggle, & held in God’s grace. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
A service will be announced at a later date, where she will be laid to rest with her family at St. James Cemetery in Bassfield, Mississippi.
