Doris Victoria Thorne

Doris Victoria Thorne passed away on Friday, July 22, 2011 at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late William B. Thorne, Sr. Mother of Susan Thorne Cattan (Danny) and William B. Thorne, Jr. (Judy). Grandmother of Danny (Cherie), Amy (Kearn), Jeremy, Jessica, and Jennifer (Chris). Great grandmother of Callie, Colby, Scott, Cadie, Kylie, Miranda, and Cameron. Sister of Bertha Lillian Edna Kerner Finnin and Lillian Elizabeth Kerner Piraro Gervais. Preceded in death by her parents, Charles Jacob Frederick Kerner, Sr. and Victoria Lillian Riedlinger and siblings: Charles Jacob Frederick Kerner, Jr. and Lydia Alexander.

Doris recently became a member of Summerville’s Emeritus at Kenner Assisted Living. While there, she received wonderful care and attention, and for that, her family wishes to acknowledge the staff. Doris was very much cherished and loved and will be missed terribly by all.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 12:00 noon. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
