

Douglas Webb Doyle, a native of Jefferson Parish, passed away on October 27th, 2013 at the age of 60. Douglas was born on November 19th, 1952, in Heidelberg, Germany. He served as a Deputy for Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office for 36 years; he was Recruited April 16th, 1976, graduated as a Deputy September 11th, 1976; Sergeant November 11th, 1979; Team Leader of JPSO SWATT 1986-2003; Lieutenant 2005-2012 from JPSO 4th District. He was affectionately known as “Poops” by his brothers and sisters in Blue, who would describe him as having exemplary courage, uncompromising integrity, and loyalty. Department Commendations: J.P.S.O. Class ‘B” award Medal of Valor: 1985, J.P.S.O. Class “D” award Medal of Distinction: 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1982, J.P.S.O. Class “E” 2012, J.P.S.O. Class “F”: 1991, American Legion award of Valor: February 1986, LA. Peace Officers Association award for Valor: April 1986. He is survived by his loving wife, Juanita Narvaez Doyle, a 2011 Retiree of JPSO; Father of the late David L. Doyle. Son of Carrol “Jack” Doyle (Patricia) and the late Beatrice M. Doyle. Brother of Debbie D. Lobell (Jerry). Uncle of Chris Lobell (Lori); Mike Lobell (Carol). Stepbrother of Melanie Lepine. Son-in-law of Albert W. Narvaez (Nelly) and the late Ruth A. Narvaez. Stepfather of Tammy Hollingsworth Cooke (Eddie); Natalie Hollingsworth Utley. Step grandfather of Sage Hollingsworth, Sahara Utley, Carl “Dillon” and Cread Cooke. Also survived by numerous brothers’ and sisters-in-law, CeCe and his beloved Sunshine, and his family and friends from Dorginac’s. There are not enough words to describe the man that we lost, he will truly be missed by his abundantly loyal friends. His passions were scuba diving with his wife in Belize, traveling the world, trying new restaurants, he loved a good plate of New Orleans food and a cold beer, was an avid Saints and L.S.U. fan, loved NASCAR, and singing country music, and living life to its fullest. Doug enjoyed volunteering with Save an Angel animal rescue.
