Edna Martin Green

With heartfelt love and remembrance, we announce the passing of Edna Martin Green, who departed this life in Friday October 24, 2025 at the age of 87.

Born on November 20, 1937, Edna was one of sixteen siblings. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elnora H. Martin and thirteen brothers and sisters.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Two devoted daughters: Elnora (Talmage) Tate-Wright and Consuella (Jonta) Gray Three granddaughters: June C. Smith, R'Iyani C. Sylvester, and Keyani C. Dixon Three great-granddaughters: A'Lynda C. Quinn, Za'Kaire Sylvester, and Anaire Caples.

Edna retired from the Orleans Parish School System as Head Custodian at L.B. Landry High School, where she served her community with pride and commitment.

Known for her bold honesty and strong will, Edna never held her thoughts — regardless of how they might land. She was the proud Matriarch of three generations of strong-minded women, and her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who knew and loved her.

In accordance with her wishes, no memorial or funeral services will be held. Her family honors her memory in the quiet strength of their hearts, where she will live on always.
