

Edward Joseph Martin, Jr. died on April 6, 2016, of a heart attack at the age of 80. Eddie was the loving, beloved, devoted, and cherished husband of Loretta Logan Martin for 57 years. He was the loving, beloved, devoted, and cherished father of Dr. Edward Joseph Martin, III and Julie Martin, Désirée Martin Tanner and Barry Tanner, Lisette Vicknair Martin, and Nicole Martin Bartlett and Tad Bartlett. He was also the loving father of the late Logan Joseph Martin, beloved and cherished son. He was the loving, devoted, and cherished grandfather of Edward Joseph Martin, IV, Royce Ehret Martin, Sarah Ehret Martin, Andrée Marie Robards, Richard Lamar Robards, Jr., Nicole Marie Robards, Brody Logan Martin, Wyatt Logan Martin, Elijah Ryan Bartlett, Max Edward Bartlett, and Lucie Logan Bartlett. Eddie was the devoted son of the late Edward Joseph Martin, Sr., and Lucille Poursine Martin, and the loving and beloved brother of Robert J. and Jeannie Martin, David J. and Lorraine Martin, and Dr. John J. and Nanette Martin. He was the loving uncle of Robin Martin Eckert, David J. Martin, Jr., Stacy Martin Belou, Stephen J. Martin, and Patrick J. Martin. He was also uncle of the late Robert J. Martin, Jr., and John J. Martin, Jr., beloved nephews. Eddie is also survived by numerous cousins, other relatives, and friends. Eddie graduated from Jesuit High School, before graduating from Louisiana State University in 1958 with a degree in entomology. After working for F&F Pest Control for two years, he went to work for Terminix Service Company. Two years later, Eddie bought the company and became the youngest Terminix licensee in the nation. He built Terminix Service Company for more than fifty years, and today it is a large regional company employing many. He still worked every day. Eddie was a devoted parishioner of St. Philip Neri Parish for 55 years. He loved his faith, family, and friends. He was a just man. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association or to the donor's favorite charity. Relatives, friends, and colleagues are invited to attend the visitation and funeral mass on Monday, April 11, 2016 at St. Philip Neri Church, 6500 Kawanee Avenue, Metairie, LA.
