Ed Werner, son of August F Werner and Odilie “Lili” Rodriguez, unexpectedly passed away on September 16, 2017. He leaves behind his bride of 41 years, Nancy; his children Eve, Eddie, Eric, Christine (Baamonde), and Scott; his grandchildren Samantha Werner, Nick and Nate (Werner), Micah, Jonas, and Selah (Baamonde), Sadie Werner, and Mason, Connor, and Jackson (Champion); and his siblings Jerlyn Courtney and Danny Ellis. Ed was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended Warren Easton High School. After graduation, he earned a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from LSU. He was
owner and operator of Capstone Builders, Inc. for the past 33 years. His love for the Lord was evident in all that he did, and he never missed an opportunity
to ask someone if they knew Jesus. He adored the love of his life, Nancy, and was thrilled that his daughter and her family moved in with them 3 years ago. He was a father to the fatherless, a “husband” to the widows, and an investor into the next generation. This gentle giant will be remembered by most as a man who always gave his time, treasure, and talent. It has been said that he improved the economy of a country after serving there on a mission trip.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, September 22 at 10AM (Family & Friends) & 11AM (Service) at Celebration Church, 2001 Airline Drive in Metairie. Being an ardent LSU fan, Ed would love for his team colors to be represented and please feel free to wear shorts and loafers without socks. If you would like to contribute to Ed’s favorite charity, NOLA Serve, checks can be made payable to NOLA Church with NOLA Serve in the memo and sent to: NOLA Church, 5860 Citrus Blvd, Suite D #140, New Orleans, LA 70123. Ed was very involved and instrumental in NOLA Serve projects, and his passion for serving our city is an inspiration for all of us. The online guestbook is available at www.leitzeaganfuneralhome.com.
