Eileen was born on July 9, 1949 in New Orleans, LA to parents Clarence and Marion Dwyer. She attended Francis T. Nicholls High School and then Newcomb College at Tulane University where she studied social sciences. During her sophomore year she met chemical engineering student John Morris. They were married during their senior year in 1970. Upon graduation, John took a position with Monsanto Co. and after several moves, they ended up in St. Louis.
Eileen had a passion for classical music from a young age. She spent many years in the singing groups String of Pearls and LACE, which had formed out of the Junior League of St. Louis. She was an avid volunteer with her children’s schools and extracurricular activities, most notably the Ballet Conservatory of St. Louis.
For the past 20+ years, Eileen has been very active with the Ozark Association of USA Track & Field, focusing on officiating the field events at multiple venues across the U.S. She achieved the master level officials ranking several years ago and served a pivotal role in the function of the Ozark Association.
In addition to her husband, John, Eileen is survived by siblings C.J. Dwyer, Kathy Dwyer, Susan Dwyer, and Michael (Denise) Dwyer. She is also survived by son Jason (Brittany) Morris and daughter Johanna (Alexander) Pianovich. She has one grandson and several nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Metairie, LA. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans, LA.
