Elaine Cormier Bourgeois

Elaine Cormier Bourgeois, age 79, of Picayune, MS entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 7, 2026. Elaine was born in Lafayette, LA on November 22, 1946 to Evala Landry Cormier and Rosemond Cormier. She graduated from Teurlings High School in Lafayette, LA and attended the University of Southwest Louisiana. In her youth, Elaine was involved in beauty pageants and loved spending time with childhood friends. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed snow skiing, fishing, and gardening. She was selfless and generous of her time, volunteering for hospice and the Florida recovery of hurricane Andrew in the 90's. Elaine was very loving and showed it by cooking amazing meals and always making Christmas special and memorable. She fought a courageous battle to the end with strength, resilience, and dignity.

Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl "Skip" Bourgeois; her son, Christopher Bourgeois; her parents, Evala and Rosemond Cormier; and her sister, Barbara Mouton (Jimmy).

Survivors include her loving children; Heath C. Bourgeois and Dawn M. Bourgeois; her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Bourgeois; her dedicated companion, Ronald Eugene Breland; her granddaughter, Rebeka Ray; and her beloved granddog, Sunny.

The family of Elaine would like to sincerely thank Mr. Ronald Breland for his selfless love and care to our dear mother. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Compassus Hospice and the Asbury House.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial gathering at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 9:00am until 10:30am. A celebration of her live will begin at 10:30am. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lafayette, LA.
