Elaine Quigley Tauzin passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 26, 2026. She was 82. A lifelong resident of Metairie, she lived in the same neighborhood where she later became the matriarch. Elaine graduated from St. Christopher and East Jefferson High School. In 1963, she met and married Leroy Tauzin and is survived by their daughter, Colleen Tauzin of Ocala, FL. She helped many people during her journey through life. She enjoyed good food, gambling and dancing. In 1992, she met Joseph Attardo, Sr. and they remained companions until the end.
She was especially proud to be a loving "Nana" to Madalyn Attardo who was her "Sunshine" and Meredith Attardo who was her "Angel Baby". There was always a special place in her heart too for Joseph and Kadie Attardo, Jr. She is also survived by several cousins who she spent many joyful hours with over the years and longtime friends whom she treasured. Her trusted friends were always an important part of her life, and they were the ones who helped her through the rough parts.
She was the daughter of the late Matthew V. Quigley and Ollie Ducote Quigley.
