Elenora “Ellen” Fricke Shuman, a retired secretary with New Orleans Public Service, Inc. died on Friday, July 19, 2013 peacefully at her home. Age 88, beloved wife of the late George W. Shuman III, daughter of the late Henry T. Fricke and Mary M. Fricke. Mrs. Shuman was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie, LA. for 56 years. She is survived by her daughter Julie S. Dupré of Hoover, AL. and her son George W. Shuman IV of Kenner, LA. Grandchildren Paul and Michael Dupré of Hoover, AL., Tiffani S. Perales (Conrad Perales) of Metairie, LA and Nicholas Shuman of Kenner, LA and a half-brother Louis Fricke of Jacksonville, FL. She was a graduate of Eleanor McMain High School and Soulé Business College. She was a previous parishioner of Incarnate Word Church and St. Lawrence the Martyr Church.
A Mass will be said on Thursday, July 25, at 1:00 pm at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd. Visitation to begin at 11:00 am until time of services. Interment following at Greenwood Mausoleum, 116 City Park Avenue, New Orleans. Condolences may be offered at www.leitzeaganfuneralhome.com.
