Elizabeth Marie Riehl Peters

Elizabeth Marie Riehl Peters passed away on Friday March 6, 2015 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of 58 years of the late Edward Victor Peters, daughter of the late James Richard Riehl and the late Madeline Abrams Riehl. A native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Metairie for the last 52 years. Mother of Randall E. Peters (Lynn), Bryan J. Peters (Ralph Sikes), Wayne G. Peters (Jean Wang), Lisa P. Wetzel (Jerry), and Julie P. Hayden (Bob). Also survived by seven loving grandchildren: Keith (Lisa) and Kevin Peters, Melissa, Danielle, and Michelle Wetzel, and James and Jessica Hayden and loving nieces and nephews. Betty graduated from Dominican High School in 1947, and attended Dominican College where she earned her BA degree in business in 1951. Soon after graduation, she started work at New Orleans Public Service as a secretary. It is here where Betty met the love of her life Eddie. They were married on November 14, 1953. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and her family was her greatest joy. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Parish for 52 years. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from LEITZ-EAGAN Metairie, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, on Wednesday Morning, March 11, 2015 at 11:00. Visitation will begin at 9:00. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories, Metairie. In lieu of flowers, the family requests Masses or donations to St Mary Magdalen Church.
