Jeanie was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Jeannette Morvant; her stepfather, Norman Morvant; and her father, John Crossin.
Jeanie was truly a beautiful soul whose kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone blessed to know her. She had a heart full of love and a special way of making others feel cherished. Her deep love for her cousins, godchildren, and friends was evident in everything she did. She treasured her family and friendships, and the love she shared so freely will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Born on September 18, 1932, in Thibodaux, Louisiana, Jeanie graduated from Sophie B. Wright High School. She went on to enjoy a successful 33-year career with Travelers Insurance, where she worked as an account assistant. In 1988, Jeanie retired to devote herself to caring for her beloved mother, a role she embraced with unwavering love and dedication for the next seven years. Her selflessness and devotion to family were a true reflection of the remarkable woman she was.
Throughout her life, Jeanie enjoyed staying active, making memories, and spending time with others. She found great joy in the friendships she formed through her involvement in groups at Lafreniere Park and her many years of participation in her sorority. She treasured these special connections and the happiness they brought to her life.
Jeanie's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Kendra Calamari and the wonderful women of Agape Care Homes who lovingly cared for her over the past two years. Their kindness, compassion, and genuine affection for Jeanie were an incredible blessing to our family. Agape became more than just a place of care; it became a second home filled with love. Jeanie adored each of these special women, and it was evident that they loved her just as dearly. Our family will forever be grateful for the comfort, dignity, and love they provided her.
Although our hearts are saddened by her passing, we find peace in knowing that Jeanie is now resting in the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father. Her beautiful smile, gentle spirit, and unconditional love will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Jeanie's life at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church for a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until Mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux, Louisiana.
May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she so generously shared throughout her life.
Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.
