Born on March 28, 1944, in New Orleans to the late Margaret Wester Bordelon and Ellis James Bordelon, Sr. He graduated from Cor Jesu High School and LSU with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology. After graduation, Ellis married his high school sweetheart. Their love story continued for 58 years.
Survived by his wife, Lynn Lombardino Bordelon, and children Shannan Bordelon Granger (Neil), Ellis “Skip” Bordelon III (Bridget), Jeffrey Charles Bordelon (Shannon), along with eight Grandchildren: Rachel, Katelyn, Hayden, Ella, Emma, Addison, Reid, and Liza. Also survived by his sister, Jacqueline Bordelon Graff (Adam), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ellis lived for his beloved wife, children and grandchildren. He loved his family more than anything in the world. However, golf was a close second. Affectionately known to close family and friends as “Palooka”, Ellis never met a stranger. He was a member of Colonial Country Club, Chateau Country Club and the Ninth Hole Golf Club. Ellis was the second-generation owner of Broadview Cleaners & Tailors in New Orleans from 1972 to 2005. He also enjoyed many years as a member and officer of the Prometheus Carnival Club. If everyone didn’t already know who Ellis was when he walked in the door, they definitely knew him when they left because he was the life of every party. No matter how hard he partied on Saturday, Ellis could always be found at church on Sunday mornings and was a faithful parishioner of St Mary Magdalen Church. His playful shenanigans and joyful personality will be missed by everyone who knew him.
The family greatly appreciates the efforts of the doctors, nurses and staff who cared for him over the years.
