She was preceded in death by her parents, James Peter Schwehm and Thelma Tarantino Schwehm; and her siblings, Margaret Schwehm Williams, Janie Schwehm Wood, and James Schwehm.
Survivors include her sister and brother, Thelma Schwehm Rohbock and Jerry K. Schwehm; her daughters, Christine K. Edmond, Julie K. Bourgeois, Kim K. Payn, Carla K. Baker, and Imelda K Perilloux; along with her 10 grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren.
Emelda will be laid to rest at St. Lazarus of Bethany Memorial Gardens near Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Covington, LA. A memorial mass will be celebrated in her honor at a later date at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Covington, LA.
