Mr. Ernie used to let me ride on his lap around the Brother Martin fair in his motorized wheelchair when I was about six or seven years old. He had infinite patience with me when I would push the joystick forward as much as possible because I wanted the wheelchair to go FAST...pushing the joystick forward only made the chair stop short (imagine a car slamming on its brakes). So, he let me putt around the Brother Martin parking lot, giving him whiplash repeatedly.

Just one of so many wonderful memories of Mr. Ernie. Thank you for being a constant caring presence in my life. Love you always, Mandy Lagarde
