Ernest Raymond Ritter

Our beloved father, Ernest Raymond Ritter, 98 years old, passed away peacefully at his home on February 14,2011, 3:10AM. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his beloved little Irish sweetheart wife, Elizabeth Ann Roberson Ritter. He was the proud father of his four daughters, Doris Ritter Steudlein, and husband Irwin; Elizabeth Ritter Dinu, and husband Bob; Jane Ritter Kihnel, and husband Carl; Nancy Ritter Farrell, and husband Andy.

Our beloved father was the proud grandparent to 36 children. Eleven grandchildren: Rae Ann Steudlein Martino, wife of Tim; Mark E. Steudlein, husband of Denise; Irwin F. Steudlein, husband of Denise;

Laura Zarecki Hendriksen, husband of Gerrit; Robyn Zarecki Ruehrwein and husband Mark; Timothy D. Kihnel, and wife Traci; Kevin M. Kihnel(deceased) ; Karen Kihnel O’Malley, wife of Michael; Paul Kihnel, husband of Melanie; David A Farrell, husband of Leslie; Christine Farrell Cruz, wife of Michael.

Twenty-four great-grandchildren: Jessica Martino; Rachael Martino; Joshua Martino; Victoria Martino; Mark E. Steudlein, Jr.; Steven Steudlein; Joshel Steudlein; Irwin “Trae” Steudlein the third; Adam Steudlein; Reese Ruehrwein; Johanna Hendriksen; Luke Hendricksen; Eric Kihnel; Brittany Kihnel; Colin O‘Malley; Shannon O‘Malley; Morgan O‘Malley;

Megan Kihnel; Ashlyn Kihnel; Ethan Kihnel; Logan Ernest Kihnel; Brian Farrell; Connor Farrell; Julia Farrell.

Great Great Grandchild: Bradley Kihnel

He was a native of New Orleans, spending the last of his years in Kenner.

He was a retiree of Jax Brewery. His legacy to his children and family is his undying spirit of love and of life.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 11:00 am.
