Estelle Frances Hannan

HANNAN – Estelle (Sissy) O’Brien Hannan, age 89, passed away on Saturday January 28, 2012. Born in New Orleans, LA in the Irish Channel on September 5, 1922. Beloved wife of the late John J. Hannan, Jr. Daughter of the late Eugene G. O’Brien and Estelle Callery O’Brien; sister of the late Alfred E., Gerald W., and Eugene D. O’Brien. Godchild of the late Henry P. Ulmer and Frances O. Ulmer. Mother of Gail H. Noel (Robert), Sharon H. Sciavicco (Michael), and Bonnie H. Bourgeois (Ronald). Grandmother of Monique N. LeCompte (Brian), Robin N. Davis (Scott), Michelle A. Sciavicco, Ronald G. Bourgeois, Jr. (Elizabeth), Mary N. Olivio (Clint), Michael J. Sciavicco, Jeanne H. Bourgeois. Great grandmother of Abigail N. LeCompte, Georgia R. Davis, Ronald G. Bourgeois, III; Robert J. Davis, Miller M. Bourgeois, Scott F. Davis, Jr.; Noah N. Olivio, Graham N. Davis, and Liam N. Olivio. She was a graduate of Redemptorist School Class of 1939 and a member of the Mercy Alumni. Sissy was a lifelong resident of the Irish Channel, parishioner of St. Alphonsus Parish, and an early volunteer for the Canonization of Father Seelos. She enjoyed life to the fullest, especially the company of her family and many dear friends. “Nobody did it better”. The family would like to thank the Chateau Living Center for their compassionate care and concern.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA at 1:00 P. M. Visitation will be from 11:00 A. M. until time of services. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery No. 1.
