Eva Garay Castay

Eva Garay Castay passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, January 13, 2018. She was 75 years old. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Castay. Mother of Ernesto Bennett (Jaime). Grandmother of Emily Bennett and Isabella Bennett. Sister of Herminio Garay, Herminia Garay, Gloria Garay, Venus Garay, Mario Garay, and the late Lillian Garay. Daughter of the late Eva and Herminio Garay. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Eva was a native of San Pedro Sula, Honduras and has been a resident of the New Orleans area since 1985. She had a gentle and nurturing personality, and was an extraordinary caretaker. Eva was very kindhearted and never complained about anything or anyone. She loved her family and always looked forward to trips to the beach. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service at LEITZ-EAGAN Metairie, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, on Monday afternoon, January 22, 2018 at 12:30.
