

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Fadge Emelda Evans, (Fadge), was the tenth child born of the marriage of Daniel Evans, Sr., and Ada Davis Evans. She was married to her beloved husband, Rufus W. Flowers, Sr., until his death in 2017. Four children were born of their marriage: Fadge Flowers Pincham, Rufus, Jr./”Skipper” (Lyonetta), the late Rehekettee/“Rikki” Patrice Flowers, and Vera Lynn Flowers Fanomezantsoa (Heritiana Faly). She died peacefully on February 5, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her beloved great-grandson, Jamiel Flowers, and grandson, Michael Flowers. Also preceding her in death were her 11 siblings: Leona (“Rainy”) Edwards, Dorothy Margarite Edwards, Daniel Evans, Jr., Herbert Evans, Sr., Emmanuel Evans, Rosa Newton, Ada Flores, Rev. Samuel Patrick Evans, Mary Lucetta Lemieux, Oscar Evans, and Joseph Evans, Sr.
Fadge was a graduate of Valena C. Jones Elementary, Rivers Frederick Junior High, Booker T. Washington High School, and Straight Business College. She began her career as Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Standard Life Insurance Company. She then managed the Algiers office of J.W. Stroughter Realty until she retired in 1995. She was also a licensed florist and wedding coordinator.
Her Christian life began when her life began. For generations, the Evans family members were all faithful members of Second Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of New Orleans, whose cornerstone includes her grandparents’ names. Fadge was a gifted singer who sang in the church choir. She was highly sought after as a soloist and traveled extensively throughout the City and beyond, singing and praising her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Fadge and Rufus became members of Lakeview Christian Center of New Orleans. Following its restoration, their names were etched on the cornerstone of their beloved “Lakeview”.
Fadge is survived by her daughter Fadge, son Rufus, and daughter Vera Lynn; her six grandchildren: Rufus, III/”Rocky”, Mary/”Mimi”, Daniel Flowers, (“Tia”), and Gabrielle, and their mother Mary W. Flowers; Evan Eugene Pincham, and Mali Fadge Fanomezantsoa; and by her seven great-grandchildren: Mayana Flowers, Daejohn Flowers, Tyvon Flowers, Kamden Flowers, Jamari Flowers, Makayla Flowers, and Makai Flowers. She is also survived by her devoted niece Tiffany Lemieux, and a host of other dear nieces, nephews, “play” sisters and brothers, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 am, funeral at 11:30 am, on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Lakeview Christian Center, 5885 Fleur De Lis Dr., New Orleans, Pastor Keith Collins officiating, followed by interment at Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., Metairie, LA. Friends and members of Lakeview Christian Center, Power House, Greater Ebenezer, Greater Liberty, and Second Mt. Olive MB Churches are cordially invited.
