Faye Ellis

Faye Marie Aysien Ellis passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2012 after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her late husband, George P. “Sonny” Ellis, Jr. and her parents, August Aysien and Lucille Aucoin Aysien. She is survived by her children Cindy, David, Tim, and his wife Kathy, Kevin and his wife Cathy, Greg and his wife Allison and Jamie Ellis; her grandchildren, Kevin, Jr., Michael, Dustin, Elizabeth, Angela, Ashley and Stacy Ellis (fiancé Joey Cancienne), and one great-grandchild, Michael Anthony Ellis. She was a cheerleader and graduate of Redemptorist High School (1952) and a long-time resident of the Irish Channel. She also served as a substitute teacher at St. Alphonsus Grade School. Although she was an only child, her dedication to aunts, uncles and cousins fostered a strong bond between a very extended family who hold her in great esteem. Her joyfulness, her long chats and her unwavering commitment to those she loved will be sadly missed, but the lessons she instilled in them will allow them to persevere, and her legacy shall live in their hearts and minds forever. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 11:00 am. Visitation will take place on the evening of Friday, June 8, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Saturday morning from 9:00 am until time of service. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
