Frank Joseph Palmisano Sr.

Frank Joseph “Mule Skinner” Palmisano, age 78 years, and lifelong resident of Jefferson, LA, passed away at his residence on Thursday, June 7, 2012. Beloved husband of Billie Jean Smith Palmisano. Father of Frank J. Jr. (Rosanne), David (Kevin), Charles, Rose, Joseph (Shirley), Ralph (Rose) and Felix Palmisano. Brother of Shirley “Moonie” Guillotte (L. J.) and the late Frances Welshons Jones, Ruth “Tudy” Conzonere, and Joseph “Li’l Joe” Palmisano Jr. Son of the late Joseph F. and Catherine Durr Palmisano. Also survived by 17 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Palmisano was a switchman for the Illinois Central Railroad for 32 years. The family extends a special thanks to caretakers Pat Stewart, Ophelia Lee and Amedisus Hospice Staff Leslie, Birdie, Marilyn and Kasie.

Relatives and friends of the family, employees of Illinois Central Railroad and United Transportation Union are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM from the Metairie home of THARP-SONTHEIMER-THARP, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd. at 43rd St. Visitation on Sunday, June 10, 2012 from 6:00 to 10:00 PM and again on Monday from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment in Carrollton Cemetery, New Orleans.
