

Francis “Frankie, Jr.” Xavier Champagne, Jr. passed away on Monday, January, 10, 2011 at 12:57 PM. A native of Edgard and a resident of Luling for 25 years. Beloved husband of Michelle “Mickie” Mary Schexnayder Champagne. Father of April Lyne Champagne Sellers (husband, John Robert Sellers), Melissa Frances Champagne (companion, Robert Joseph Thomassie) and Blake Michael Champagne (wife, Brittany Love Smith Champagne). “Pappy” of Jenna Rayne Thomassie, Brooke Michelle Sellers, Zavier Coel Thomassie, Leah Michelle Sellers and Julianna Siobhan Thomassie. Son of Retta Troxler Champagne and the late Francis “Frankie” Xavier Champagne, Sr. Brother of Charlotte Champagne, Paul “PJ” Joseph Champagne, II, Audrey C. Raziano (husband, Benny Raziano), James Evariste Champagne, Sr. (wife, Teala Champagne) and Tracy C. Rousselle (husband, Ricky Rousselle). Son-in-law of Richard Schexnayder, Sr and Shirley Loup Schexnayder. Brother-in-law of Penny Schexnayder and the late Richard Schexnayder, Jr. Godfather of Tracy Rousselle, Crystal Simon Abadie, Paul Joseph Champagne, III and James Evariste Champange, Jr. Also, a lifelong friend of Rodney Simon. Former employee of Majoria’s Supermarket in Boutte and friend to the “Majoria Brothers”: Shea, Mark, Barry and Dana.
Frankie, Jr. enjoyed spending time with family and friends. As a father, he coached his “girls” in softball and son, Blake, in basketball and baseball. He also was a volunteer firefighter for 9 years with the West St. John Volunteer Fire Department where he was the Fire Chief for 5 years. Frankie, Jr. was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved drag-racing and funny cars. He especially enjoyed classic rock music, Led Zeppelin being his favorite band.
The family would like to thank Dr. Laura Brinz and her staff for all of their comfort and support during this journey, also the ICU staff at East Jefferson General Hospital.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 14, 2011 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 1 Rectory Lane in Hahnville, LA from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Taft, LA.
