Gabriel N. Trahan

Gabriel N. Trahan, age 83, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Joyce H. Trahan. Loving father of Gabriel N. Trahan, Jr. (Deborah), Ann T. Lanoux (Mark), and the late Michael A. Trahan (Mary). Proud grandfather of Melissa Trahan-Ferrara (Joey), Katelyn Dacy, Kelsey Trahan, Shelby Lanoux and the late Bridgette Laine Trahan. Great grandfather of Melanie Kate Ferrara. Brother of Donald E. Trahan and the late Gerald Trahan. Brother in-law of Stanley J. Hymel and the late Carolyn Gardner. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Gabriel was a former member of the Clearview Lions Club and an active member of the Little Farm Golden Ages. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at St. Francis Villa Assisted Living for taking exceptional care of Mr. Trahan.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the wake at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie on Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Edward the Confessor, 4921 W. Metairie Ave., on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 10:00 am with a visitation starting at 9:00 am until the time of the service. Interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Heart Associaton at www.heart.org preferred.
